Kenya: Turkana residents hope to benefit from oil discovery

The residents of Kenya's north-western Turkana region are hoping the discovery of oil and gas will bring prosperity to the area.

Although experts say it could be years before the first barrels of oil are commercially produced - tensions have already been running high, as locals say they are yet to benefit the new-found wealth.

It is hoped that the oil companies will be able to provide jobs for the community.
