Ebola outbreak: 'Five infected every hour' in Sierra Leone

The Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond has called for decisive action and aid from the international community to stop the Ebola epidemic in west Africa spiralling further out of control.

He said allowing the disease to spread could cost up to a million lives by early next year.

Leading charity, Save the Children, has warned that a rate of five new Ebola cases an hour in Sierra Leone means healthcare demands are far outstripping supply.

The outbreak has killed more then 3,000 people in West Africa - with the infection spreading at a "terrifying" rate.
