Nigeria schoolgirls: Incoming president will address issue 'honestly'

More than 50 of the girls abducted by militant Islamists in Nigeria last year were seen alive three weeks ago, a witness has told the BBC.

Boko Haram sparked global outrage when it seized more than 200 girls from Chibok town a year ago.

Malam Garba Shehu is the spokesman from the APC party, which won the election in Nigeria last month.

He has told the BBC that the incoming president - Muhammadu Buhari - wants to address the issue in a way which is "honest, forthright and straightforward".
