Nigeria's historic moment as president Buhari sworn in

Nigeria's new president Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in to office, in a ceremony in the capital Abuja.

Mr Buhari is the first opposition figure to win a presidential election in Nigeria since independence in 1960.

The ceremony was attended by his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan, as well as US Secretary of State John Kerry, and world leaders.

Mr Buhari told cheering supporters, "I will discharge my duties to the best of my ability, faithfully and in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the law".
