'Hundreds killed' as South Sudan rivals clash

South Sudan is "back to war", a vice-presidential spokesman says, with rival factions clashing and hundreds reported killed.

It involves government troops of President Salva Kiir and forces loyal to Vice President Riek Machar.

The UN mission in South Sudan says it is concerned by reports that armed groups are preventing civilians from seeking protection.

Mary Harper reports.
