Shingai Shoniwa: 'My new music explores more of my heritage'
Singer Shingai Shoniwa is best known as the lead singer of indie rock band the Noisettes - but her newer music as a solo artist has a distinctly more African flavour.
Ahead of her performance this week at the Southbank Centre's Meltdown Festival in London, she told the BBC's Aaron Akinyemi how her new material fully embraces her Zimbabwean and Bantu heritage.
