Pakistan protesters urge 'corrupt' leaders to step down

Crowds of Pakistani protesters have braved bitter cold conditions overnight in the capital, Islamabad, to demand the immediate resignation of the government they see as corrupt and inept.

The protesters, including women and children, are followers of a Sufi cleric, Tahir-ul-Qadri, who has mobilised anti-government demonstrations in recent days.

On Monday, Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered the arrest of the Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf, on charges of corruption.
