Pakistan cities hit by violence and 'specific threats'

The US has ordered all non-essential government personnel to leave its consulate in the Pakistani city of Lahore, after a "specific threat" was made against the building.

Meanwhile several people have died and some 20 others have been wounded after gunmen attacked worshippers leaving a mosque in the southern city of Quetta.

The attack is the second in the city in as many days.

Charles Haviland reports from Islamabad.
