Amnesty Bill: Could former Thai PM return from exile?
Thailand's lower house of parliament has passed a political amnesty bill that critics have suggested could allow the return of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra.
The lower house passed the bill in the early hours of Friday and it must now go before the Senate.
The BBC's Jonathan Head in Bangkok said that the bill had been "significantly expanded" by parliament and was "a very, very controversial proposal".
