Philippines typhoon: Political fallout as clean up begins

Aid is starting to reach some of the most remote areas of the Philippines more than a week after Typhoon Haiyan devastated the country, but there has been more criticism of the government's response.

The country's president has insisted weaknesses at local government level had delayed the relief effort, during a visit to Tacloban, one of the worst hit areas.

The BBC's Rajesh Mirchandani, has been to the neighbouring city of Palo, where survivors were waiting for food and a visit from President Aquino.
