Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on protests

Thailand's prime minister has said she does not want to call a new election but wants dialogue instead.

Speaking to the BBC's Jonathan Head, Yingluck Shinawatra said: "If you call an election we have to ask whether the protesters would be satisfied".

She also said she would not authorise the use of force against protesters occupying government ministries.

They are calling for her removal from office.
