Rapturous welcome for Pope Francis in the Philippines

Pope Francis has arrived in the Philippines to a rapturous welcome, ahead of a five day official visit.

The pontiff's tour will include a visit to Tacloban to meet survivors of a devastating typhoon that hit the area in 2013 and he will also hold an open air mass on Sunday in Manila.

The Philippines has around 80 million Roman Catholics.
