Mount Everest: Gurkhas prepare for expedition

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the Brigade of Gurkhas, the units of the British Army that are composed of Nepalese soldiers.

To mark the occasion they intend to put a serving Gurkha soldier on the summit of the world's highest mountain. The BBC will be following their expedition from Everest's base camp.

The deputy commander of the G200e team, Major Andrew Todd, spoke to BBC News about the preparations and the importance of the expedition.
