Ex-Thai PM 'confident of innocence'

Former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says she is "confident of her innocence" as she starts her trial on charges of negligence.

In Bangkok, Ms Shinawatra pleaded not guilty in a brief hearing.

She faces up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of dereliction of duty over her role in a controversial rice subsidy scheme.
