Myanmar's army chief 'expects a fair election'

The commander in chief of army in Myanmar has said he will respect the result of November's historic general election, even if the opposition wins.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC's Jonah Fisher, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said he believe the election would be both free and fair, but that the army's role in politics would continue.

It is expected that the party of Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi will win the most seats, but the constitution bars her from becoming president.
