Japan express World War 2 regret as end of conflict is marked

Japan's Prime Minster Shinzo Abe has expressed his regret about the immeasurable suffering his country caused during the Second World War.

However he avoided saying it had fought a war of aggression.

It comes on the eve of the anniversary marking 70 years since the war came to an end.
