'No way the public knew' about alleged hacking by China

A computer security company based in the US believes the Chinese military is behind a series of high-level cyber-hacking attacks.

Mandiant says it has pinpointed a secretive unit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army as the most likely source of the attacks, which have lifted data from a range of industries, mostly in the US.

Raymond Li, editor of the BBC's Chinese service, said: "This is the first time we've seen such a specific accusation against the Chinese military."
