Celebrations for Chinese New Year are being held in communities around the world on Thursday at the start of the new lunar calendar, the most important date in many east Asian cultures.
As well as gathering for family meals, some people in China will go out to watch shadow puppet shows, an ancient form of Chinese storytelling.
But shadow puppetry is a tradition that is slowly dying out.
One of the country's oldest puppeteers, Wu Shengping is doing his best to keep the art alive.
