NZ mine explosion: Test shaft nearing completion

The man leading the operation to rescue 29 coal miners from a pit in New Zealand has said for the first time they are preparing for "possible loss of life". Nothing has been heard from the miners - including two from Scotland - since an explosion on Friday.

Rescuers are planning to send a high-tech robot into a tunnel at the Pike River colliery on South Island, to transmit pictures and assess toxic gas levels.

Phil Mercer reports from the mine.
