Floods sever roads and airports in Australia

The authorities in Australia are warning that the flooding in Queensland could last as long as a month, as water levels continue to rise in many parts of the state.

Tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes and military aircraft are flying supplies to the city of Rockhampton, where suburbs have been swamped by surging river levels.

The BBC's Nick Bryant says many roads have been severed.
