Foreigners leave Japan amid nuclear fears

Hundreds of foreigners have decided to leave Japan amid growing fears for their safety after the government warned radiation from Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant reached harmful levels.

The warning comes after the plant was rocked by a third blast which appears to have damaged one of the reactor's containment systems for the first time.

Christine Pontoizeau, a passenger at Haneda Airport, said she decided to leave because of Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

Other foreigners at Narita Airport voiced their concerns about the potential health risks after problems at the nuclear plant.
