Chris Hipkins: Ardern was the leader New Zealand needs

The sole nominee to replace outgoing New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has called her "the leader we needed at the time that we needed it".

Mr Hipkins said he is "humbled and honoured" for the support he has received from his party to replace Jacinda Ardern as New Zealand's leader.
