Germany is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of its reunification with key events in Bremen and Berlin.

A ceremony was held in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin, where guests included Chancellor Angela Merkel, German President Christian Wulff and formcer Chancellor Helmut Kohl.

Capitalist West and communist East Germany merged on 3 October 1990.
