Chechen Kesi Karuyeva, 116, may be world's oldest woman

At the age of 116, Chechen villager Kesi Karuyeva could be the world's oldest woman.

According to her passport, she was born on 5 January 1895, making her older than US citizen Besse Cooper, 115, who is currently verified by Guinness World Records as the oldest woman alive.

However, an indigenous Brazilian woman may also have a claim to the title - the tribal rights group Survival believes Maria Lucimar Pereira reached 121 last month.
