Spanish Popular Party: Rajoy calls for harmony and unity

Spain's centre-right Popular Party (PP) has declared victory in a parliamentary election dominated by the country's deep debt crisis.

With most votes counted the PP, led by Mariano Rajoy, looks certain to secure a clear majority in the lower chamber.

Speaking after the results, Mr Rajoy called for unity and harmony while highlighting the huge challenges that the country faces.
