France set for first same sex wedding

France is preparing for its first same sex marriage on Wednesday - 24 hours after the legislation was officially made law.

Extra police have been drafted in for the ceremony in Montpellier. The proposals have proved controversial and sparked violent protests.

On Sunday, 150,000 demonstrators took to the streets of Paris in a last-ditch attempt to denounce the new law.
