BBC reporter's night in Taksim Square with Turkey protesters

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned his patience "has a limit" as anti-government protests continued for a 10th day.

Thousands of protesters gathered in Istanbul's central Taksim Square and Ankara's Kizilay Square on Sunday. Riot police fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse the demonstrators in Ankara for the second night in a row.

A slogan that has become synonymous with the protesters who describe themselves as "a civil resistance", is the word "chapulling', which literally translated means "bumming around".

The word was coined in reaction to Mr Erdogan's comments describing the protesters as "calpucu", or "riffraff", before he left on a trip to North Africa.
