Italy boat sinking: Coastguard rescue footage released

The Italian coastguard has released video footage of survivors of the Lampedusa migrant boat disaster being pulled to safety on Thursday.

Italy is holding a day of national mourning, after a boat carrying about 500 African migrants sank off the island's coast in the early hours.

At least 103 bodies were recovered and more than 150 people were rescued.

Leonardo Ricci from the Italian coastguard described the rescue operation.
