Ukraine: Riot police blessed by priests

Ukraine's president has issued a statement agreeing to round-table talks with the opposition after two weeks of mass demonstrations.

Protestors have been demanding the resignation of the government, fresh elections and closer ties with the European Union.

Riot police are also being deployed on Independence Square in Kiev, to face down the continuing protests.

The BBC's Steve Rosenberg said priests have been blessing riot police who had gathered in the capital.
