Eugenia Tymoshenko hails 'first step' to mother's freedom

The daughter of jailed Ukraine opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko has hailed a vote which could lead to her mother's release from jail.

Shortly after the country's president and opposition leaders signed a deal to hold a presidential poll by the end of the year, parliament voted for a change in the law which could lead to the release of Tymoshenko- an arch-rival of Mr Yanukovych.

Eugenia Tymoshenko told BBC News: "We see it as a first step towards her freedom".
