Preparations for Crimea vote take place in Simferopol

Russia has vetoed a draft UN resolution criticising Sunday's secession referendum in Ukraine's Crimea region - the only Security Council member to vote against the measure.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has warned that it will use all necessary measures to stop what it calls "Russia's military invasion".
