Ukraine Crisis: Russian reaction to Crimea vote

Crimea's parliament has formally declared independence from Ukraine and asked to join the Russian Federation.

It follows Sunday's controversial referendum. Election officials said the vote was nearly 97% in favour of joining the Russian Federation, with a turnout of 83%.

The vote has been condemned by Kiev and declared illegal by the US and EU, but many people in Moscow feel very differently, as the BBC Richard Galpin explains.
