Russian President Vladimir Putin: 'Crimea loyal to historic truth'
Crimeans have "proved their loyalty to a historic truth", Russia's president has said, on his first visit to the region since it was annexed by Russia in March.
Attending a Victory Day celebration, which marks the Soviet victory in World War Two, Mr Putin praised the "strong will" of the people.
"Even when our troops had to give up the city, Sevastopol didn't give up," he said.
