Highlights from WW1 centenary events across the globe

Events are being held around the world to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One.

At one of the main commemoration events in Liege, Belgium, Prince William gave a speech and thousands of balloons were released; while in Singapore, dignitaries gathered at the Cenotaph.

Prince Harry unveiled a Memorial Arch in Folkestone in memory of the millions of people who passed through on their way to and from the Western Front.

And Prince Charles and David Cameron were just some of those attending the service at Glasgow Cathedral.
