Ukraine crisis: Fight for control of the country's east

The downing of a Malaysia Airlines flight in July focused international attention on the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Pro-Russian rebels, who had seized territory in the east, are under pressure as Ukrainian government forces fight to regain control.

The UN says 2000 people have been killed, and 5000 more injured, since the crisis began.
