Russia's economy: Life for ordinary people

The economic gloom in Russia is growing: the rouble keeps falling, prices keep rising, and foreign investment is drying up. Lower oil prices and Western sanctions seem to have the Russian economy in a stranglehold.

So how does this affect everyday life?

BBC News travelled to the city of Ryazan, about three hours' drive south-east of Moscow, and met teacher Yana Kindeyeva, her mum Irina and grandma Larisa, before finding out how the economy was affecting entrepreneur Maxim Gordeyev.
