Migrants' deaths an enormous tragedy, says UNHCR

At least 300 migrants are thought to have drowned this week, while attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea from North Africa.

The United Nations has called it a "tragedy on an enormous scale".

Survivors brought to the Italian island of Lampedusa said they were forced by human traffickers in Libya to risk the crossing in rough seas.

Caroline Hawley reports.
