Fierce fighting continues in Ukraine as ceasefire nears

There has been fierce fighting in eastern Ukraine, hours before a ceasefire was due to come into force.

The city of Debaltseve, where Ukrainian government forces are besieged by pro-Russian rebels, has been heavily bombarded.

Under a peace deal agreed on Thursday, the two sides are set to withdraw their forces behind an agreed separation line.
