Crowded conditions for migrants in Lampedusa

The pressure on European nations to act together to resolve the issue of migration is growing.

The EU border agency, Frontex, says a record number of migrants are likely to arrive on the continent year.

Authorities on the Italian island of Lampedusa are struggling to cope with a huge influx of new arrivals - a situation which could become even more extreme because of the crisis in Libya.
