Mediterranean migrants: Helicopter view of deadly route

Officials in Italy say a migrant boat which capsized on Sunday had collided with a merchant vessel which was trying to rescue those on board.

Hundreds of people are thought to have died, including up to 60 children.

Those who survived were taken by the Italian Navy to the island of Lampedusa.

Richard Bilton has spent the day on the island talking to some of those who have made it there.

He has also travelled by air out over the area where rescues have been taking place.
