EU warns UN of migrant 'security crisis'

EU Foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has called on the UN to work with Europe to dismantle criminal groups smuggling migrants across the Mediterranean.

Speaking in New York, she warned of a "humanitarian emergency" and "a security crisis" which required an "exceptional response".
