UK should show 'more solidarity' over migrant crisis

Dimitris Avramopoulos, the EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs, says the UK should show more solidarity with other EU states over the migration crisis.

He said that, while greater sharing of migrants could not be forced on the country, the UK did have a long history of successfully accepting migrants.

The commissioner said that the whole of Europe was being confronted with the current crisis and that the UK needed to show solidarity and help with a Europe-wide response.
