Italy earthquake: Why buildings fell in Apennines

Graziano Leoni, professor of structural engineering at the University of Camerino, has been helping assess damage to buildings after the 24 August earthquake in central Italy.

He explains why many buildings fell in Arquata del Tronto, one of the villages worst hit, while others withstood the shock.
