Writer Pamuk chides Erdogan and West over failed Turkey coup
Turkey's most famous writer - Orhan Pamuk - has criticised both the West and the Turkish authorities in connection with the failed July coup.
Protesters resisted elements of the Turkish military who tried to topple President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pamuk said the West should have given credit to those protesters. He also denounced Mr Erdogan's subsequent purge as undemocratic.
He spoke to BBC Persian's Khashayar Joneidi.
