Watch: Queen Margrethe II signs instrument of abdication

Frederik X is now the King of Denmark, following the formal abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe II.

Margrethe, who spent 52 years on the throne, announced she was stepping down on television on New Year’s Eve. On Sunday she signed the instrument of abdication, passing the crown to her son.
