Fireball festival marks El Salvador volcanic eruption

Every year residents of Nejapa in San Salvador celebrate a religious rite, where young people throw fiery fuel-soaked rags at each other.

The festival commemorates a volcanic eruption in 1658.

Authorities have warned the festival could get out of hand as there are no rules.

Several serious injuries were reported at this year's event.
