New species of dinosaur displayed in Buenos Aires

A new species of dinosaur is on display at the Museum of Natural Science in Buenos Aires.

Palaeontologists say that it is the most primitive species found so far that provides a link to modern-day birds.

Named Bicentenaria argentina, the species measures between 2.5 and 3 metres and was slim and agile.

The 130 bones were discovered in Rio Negro in Argentina's Patagonia region and are thought to be approximately 90 million years old.
