Cuba and the US discuss resuming direct mail services

For the last 50 years, anyone wanting to send letters to the US mainland from Cuba and vice-versa have had to do so via third-party countries because of a US-imposed financial, trade and travel ban.

But Cuban and US officials are now holding talks over resuming direct mail services between the two countries.
