Saudi Arabia celebrates its heritage with conference

As Saudi Arabia plays its part in resolving current Middle East tension the country is also looking at its past heritage.

Twenty five years ago a local villager, Ahmed Tourshi, began preservation work in Rejal Almaa in south-western Saudi Arabia.

His efforts proved an inspiration for the Saudi prince, who is promoting the nation's heritage through his role as the minister for tourism.

The BBC's Zeinab Badawi recently travelled to Riyadh for Saudi Arabia's first ever international conference dedicated to preserving Islamic Urban Heritage.
