Protests 'spread across Libyan cities'

Political activists using social networking sites are calling for demonstrations in Libya to demand the removal of Col Gaddafi, a new constitution and comprehensive political and economic reforms.

Clashes are reported to have broken out late on Wednesday between police and anti-government demonstrators in Libya's third largest city, Al Baida.

The BBC's Rana Jawad reports from Tripoli about the pro-government protests in that city and the clashes seen in Benghazi on Tuesday night.
